I’ve made these before from a recipe but didn’t roll them so thin, or make them puff up. They were still delicious. Going to try again right now, thank you!
my mom doesn’t use a roller she does it my hand
I love roti.
@misolamor i jus made it too and it did not puff up either
Excellent!! Thank you so much. Great video.
@Semicton i try it with whole wheat bread and there were bubbles but i couldn’t get myy roi to puff up like that.i heard on yutube that after the roti is cook on both sides you can put it in the microwave for 1 min and watch it puff up.i haven’t try it as yet but i will later.
Manjula – you’re the best!!! You remind me so much of my dear mum – thank you for your video … it was excellent. Your explanation is so thorough, I feel quite encouraged and may even be brave enough to try and make a batch of rotis.
i just tried to make it, they came out tasting ok, but they didnt puff up like yours did
i was simple enought to make so hopefully with sum practice i will get it right
@alex9spain chapati = roti…. Poori is similar but fried.
can someone tell me what is the difference between pita bread and roti? thanks.
I tried this yesterday with an old cast iron skillet i got from my grandma. For some reason, The bread doesn’t even bubble up at all. I bought whole wheat flour is that maybe the reason why? This is my first time ever trying to cook bread. It turned out like a dry cracker or burned on the outside and gooey in the middle.
The best kind to use IMO are the real heavy cast iron skillets. Try going to a second hand store. I have 3 that I have had for years and they work better than the new ones.

Is this Chapati ?
The lady never utter this word, she is only saying “Roti Roti Roti”….
Also, there is something quite similar but it should be fried in pot of oil,,, what is that?
@markpianoman
sorry it was a mistake it should have been 1/4 cup of water.
