i have recently went to my friends Indian wedding, and they served these there and they were delicious! but at the wedding the Jalebis were orange, not yellow-ish. How can I make them orange??
Namaste1
Amazing!!!! they are so similar to our Greek “loukoumades” even down to the syrup; except we usually make them into little balls or very small doughnut shapes. BTW.you make Indian cooking easy to follow and try. Great alternative vegan/vegetarian recipies. Thank-you and looking forward for more
looks yummy
can we use curd instead of yeast

you are the best! Jalebis I’ve seen in the store are sooo orange, do some people add food coloring? I prefer your more natural looking ones.
thankyou manjulaji, i really enjoyed your demonstration. cud you pls tell me how long the syrup should cook for? thanks
i tried this recipy some times back , every thing else was fine but it did not come out crunchy. where did i go wrong , can you suggest please?
that reminds me of funnel cakes
@nehamitra1 If you live in the US U can find it in walmart or any Grocery store.
Outside the U.S I’m sure that at the grocery store they have it. Just ask for Yeast, the main ingredient to make bread rise.
lukewarm = not to cold, not too warm, just in between:)
im going to make this for my boyfriend he loves jalebi! Thanks for the recipe!
what is yeast?where to get it from?is there any other substitute for yeast?

@kaleyvanee
rice flour will not work.
I just made these with whole mung bean and think they are fantastic. I soaked them for about 2 days, changing water from time to time, until there was just the tiniest bit of a sprout in some of the beans. I also had to add about a cup of water (and a pinch of salt) to the beans to get them to blend and have a pancake batter consistency. I think these would be Phase One South Beach friendly and you should consider passing this on to Kaylyn's Kitchen.
